Katie O’Connell, E-RYT 500, Ayurvedic Yoga Therapist, Thai Yoga Therapist, Reiki practitioner and owner of Dragonfly Yoga Barn, is a fun-loving yogi known for eating copious amounts of dark chocolate, singing and jamming with her musical friends, snuggling with her 3 cats, 2 kids, and husband Declan, and can be found doing yoga in the mountain forest, on a rock, in a river, in snowshoes,on the beach… anywhere! Katie has always been fascinated by dragonflies–their ability to transform, catch the wind, maneuver spirals and water dips with such grace, always shining irridescent in the sunlight, thus they have become our studio symbol. Offering weekend yoga retreats at Dragonfly Yoga and elsewhere has become a passion!
Katie is an Experienced Registered Yoga Teacher (E-RYT), has been practicing yoga for 18 years, teaching yoga since 2003, and has completed over 700 hours of primary and advanced yoga study with Paula Tursi, Cora Wen, Sadie Nardini, Sudha Lundeen, Marisa Laursen and Dr. Marc Halpern, head of the California College of Ayurveda, with whom she most recently earned a certification in the ancient science of Yoga Nidra and Ayurvedic Yoga Therapy. Katie is currently studying to become an Ayurvedic Health Practioner and will begin taking private clients in 2016. She has certifications in Thai Yoga with Peter Kaaberbol (2006), Sunny Klaber (2012), and T’ai Jamar Hannah (2013). Her greatest teachers of all are her students, her own children, and her husband and partner in everything, Declan, aka Dhadood.
Katie teaches daily yoga classes, offers Ayurveda & Yoga consultations and classes, private Thai Yoga Therapy, Yoga Mentoring, and Reiki appointments in front of the sun-filled windows facing the peaceful hemlock forest here at Dragonfly Yoga Barn.
Betty Webster, RYT 200 is a former guidance counselor who has been practicing yoga for over 15 years, and graduated from Vidya Vinyasa’s 200 hour Yoga Teacher Training program in May 2012. Betty lives in North Sandwich where she raised her three children, and she enjoys the peace and beauty of life in the mountains and woods of Sandwich, NH. She has been an EMT on the Sandwich Fire Department for 21 years, and also has a gardening business. Vinyasa flow, gentle yoga, Yin yoga, human anatomy, and the introduction and integration of yoga into daily life are of special interest to Betty. She loves being outside, working in gardens, painting, and being with her family (especially her grandchildren!) Betty is a regular guest instructor at DFly.
Lisa Buerk, RYT 200 grew up dancing in South Florida and was a children’s dance teacher before becoming a flight attendant. She has lived in New York, California and finally landed in NH. When she is not flying across the country, she loves flying over the local lakes and mountains with her husband in their antique airplanes. She enjoys canoeing, kayaking, hiking, and growing and gathering fresh vegetables in her garden and preparing healthy meals with her husband and friends. Lisa has been practicing yoga for 19 years and graduated from the Vidya Vinyasa Yoga Teacher Training program in May 2015. She is excited to be sharing with others her love of yoga and the peace and calm it brings. Lisa teaches at Dragonfly and in the Dragonfly Yoga Summer program at Rockywold-Deephaven Camps in Holderness, NH.
Katie Kohut, RYT 200, Katie is a NH native, originally from Moultonborough, now living in Center Sandwich with her fiancé Ben and 4-year old German shepherd, Ranger. She is a nurse specializing in cardiology at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center. Katie attended the Vidya Vinyasa YTT program at Dragonfly Yoga Barn under the guidance of Katie O’Connell and Melissa Scagliarini. On her time off, Katie enjoys being outside on her SUP or hiking in the woods with her pup. She is always eager to learn new things about the world and meet new people along the way! Katie is excited and grateful about being able to share yoga with those around her.
Hannah Peaslee, RYT 200 is a native to the woods of Sandwich, NH and was first introduced to yoga while studying at Quinnipiac University where she earned her Doctorate of Physical Therapy in 2009. Since graduating from the Vidya Vinyasa Teacher Training in May 2012 she has been sharing her passion for the Vinyasa Flow style which connects movement with breath to create an invigorating environment for her students. Hannah believes yoga should be fun as well as a commitment to discovering yourself in mind, body, and spirit. Classes focus on alignment and to develop physical awareness from the inside out, while building strength and flexibility. Hannah is a regular guest instructor at DFly.

Leslie Jose, LMT/ARMT: Peace of Mind Reiki®, Karuna Usui Tibetan Reiki Master and Teacher, Licensed Massage Therapist. Offering Reiki, monthly “Reiki Share,” as well as workshops & trainings at Dragonfly and other locations, Leslie is held in high esteem as a local wise woman for her knowledge of Reiki healing, ability to teach and share her knowledge of traditional Reiki wisdom, and for her love of nature, the healing qualities of stones, therapeutic massage, and sooooo much more. Chele Miller, Naturalist, Trailguide & Tracker: Chele enjoys sharing the outdoors with people of all ages and backgrounds. She leads hikes, tracking expeditions, and is always honing her skills at learning birdcalls of our local feathered friends, as well as following the prints of all kinds of animals, from elusive wild cats and moose, to coyotes and raccoons. Let us know if you would enjoy a group hike or a mini expedition to check out the local flora and fauna of Sandwich!
